Asiasoft and ESTSoft's method of damage control

Signed, sealed and delivered by Kevin

*Word of a warning, this post contains a lot of images - low bandwidth adviced*

On the 2nd of May 2011, CabalSEA's game publisher, Asiasoft was abruptly contacted by ESTSoft regarding a bug that relates to the Agent Shop. For those unfamiliar with the game, the Agent Shop is basically an in-game function that is similar to the Auction House from World of Warcraft or anything of the sort, which allow users to vend their items without opening personal shops or being online at that.

Asiasoft was only informed 10 minutes prior to the action by ESTSoft to shut the server down for an emergency maintenance regarding that said bug. Putting myself in the position of Asiasoft, I fully understand that they are given a figuratively short amount of time to do so and they have made effort in broadcasting them via multiple platforms such as their Facebook page and the forums, which happens to be at about 6.30 p.m. GMT+8 onwards, in which coincidentally I had been away from my computer, doing a vend with my personal shop.

When I return to my computer at about 8.00 p.m., I noticed that I have been forcefully logged off and think that there had been a maintenance (I was not inform as I have said that I was not in front of my computer). Knowing this was not a big issue, I decided to find out the reason behind this said maintenance. I went on their Facebook page and saw a notice that goes:

Okay, so I knew the reason behind the maintenance and decided to be as patient as I could and wait for when this would all be fixed and over. As my patience decided to feint and the time was about 9.50 p.m. or so, I decided to attempt a login, which brought to a 'Please restart to download update' loop and once again be informed of the maintenance that is still on-going.

I went back to their Facebook page and forum to seek if there were any extensions in their maintenance, at not to my surprise I see this:

All right, I go on and wait a little longer while I surf the web, but putting in a few looks in their CabalSEA Facebook page as well as the forums to get updates on when the maintenance would have ended. After 10 minutes or so, there had been an announcement over their Facebook stating the issue has been fixed and the server is finally up:

Thinking finally, the maintenance is over and I can enter to see if any of my items had been sold while I was AFK while vending my items in my personal shop. To my dismay, as I enter the game, I am still getting the 'Please restart to download update' loop even attempting this several times for about 30 minutes since the time of that announcement has been made. Again, I headed back to their Facebook page and then I saw this:

Then not long after, everyone who managed to enter the game told us that there were 2 new update patch files, update_158.dat and update_159.dat that they downloaded as they enter.

553 comments. I contributed about 5, which is more than usual for these kind of statuses suggesting a manual patch would definitely help a lot of players. Most of us who are not able to access the game seem to be from Malaysia, but I completely understand and bare with the situation for a little longer. Throughout that period, I was on the forum stating that the developers should have at least made manual patches while they were fixing this auto-patch problem which took them forever to realise that the suggestion would have saved a lot of people's time. As I attempt the client a few times, including reinstallation and re-patching, I finally was able to patch through. About awhile back, one of my Singaporean friends who happens to be a CabalSEA player as well told me his account was blocked for no apparent reason. I sympathize for this, I am sure he made no attempts at hacking or exploiting glitches from all the times I have played the game with him. Right as my patch completes, I see this announcements:

Right, no problems. As I attempted to login several times, I got this instead:

The first thing that came in my mind was, am I another one of the victims of these weird hacking phenomenon? I recalled a thread in the forum stating how there were many people who suffered from a similar fate when they discovered their account has been blocked for no apparent reason. Mind you, I take precautions when I play these games. If I absolutely need to play this game away from the safety of my own personal computer, I will change my password before going to play elsewhere and change my password when I return home. Most of the other players did take the same precautions, and yet they suffer such fate? In any case, the topic is found in CabalSEA forum at http://forums.asiasoftsea.net/forumdisplay.php?f=202 that is titled:

Direct link for that thread would be http://forums.asiasoftsea.net/showthread.php?t=913852

Having thought my account had been compromised, I decided to send an i-Box query to be enlighten on thus situation. The i-Box serves as a 'complain & enquiry' box for players who have problems for CabalSEA. It looks something like this:

I sent that query at the wee hours of the 3rd of May 2011, after discovering it had been blocked. Hoping for a reply and that this gets fixed soon, I decided to just go to bed and hope to get a reply on what could possibly be the cause for such actions, be it made by a 3rd party or even Asiasoft (or ESTSoft).

I posted a little about my concern in the thread as mentioned on what could possibly the cause of these sudden mass banning:

The following hours after I woke up from my sleep, I checked my email. It was passed noon, drawing closer to the evening when I discovered that the query has been responded by an automated mail that goes like this:

My full name has been removed for security reasons. I went through that mail, over and over again, word by word to make sure I did not read it wrong in any way.

caught for Product Investigation

Those words steadily implied I have been in cahoots with a lot of shady game exploits, which I never done so in my life! If I had been doing anything illegal in the game, I would not be complaining over how defected the game has grown over the years, would I not? You can imagine the rage I felt for implying that I was already guilty without further evidential proof to support my so-called 'acts' on the breach of their policy which is very infuriating.

This does not end here. I brought this over to the forum, the following replies highlighted the events that follow (posting the ones that are relevant):

This was the last post on the thread and sad to say, I have yet to receive any notifications, email or even a reply regarding this issue by anyone. All of us are just left out in the cold and what made this worse is that the judicial system in this game is 'guilty before proven innocent'.

Even if they did find out that my account was in no way of a violation by intent, I hardly believe they would even apologize for their mistakes let alone compensate me for the lost of time for the game over the past 3 days.

This is not the first time Asiasoft had sparked me to write on how crapped up their services are, pass posts of their screw ups:

CabalSEA, this is the final straw

Signed, sealed and delivered by Kevin

I officially, and I really do mean officially wash my hands off of this game.

For possibly 4 years of playing this game on and off has got me realising one thing - I'm going nowhere. Since I'm going to quit, I might as well come clean and say all that needs to be said about the game.

I started this game sometime around March 2008. Yes, that has been a pretty long time ago. That was when CabalSEA first came out of Closed Beta. I have started off playing this game with friends and I have seen them all go before me, pretty much explains how this game turned out.

What had been the major attraction of this game was how the game revolves around skills, not just our own but the in-game feature of it all. Coming from games like RO and the likes of Helbreath, physical brute type classes like warriors or sword wielding whackos are usually swinging weapons in what we called 'normal attacks'. For CabalSEA case, there's no such thing as 'normal attack', well they do but it's crappy once you've attained some attacking skills. The whole grinding process of RPG has never been so much fun where the ideas of gnashing buttons to see awesome skills being dished out as attacks. Furthermore, the combo-ing of skills allow faster skill execution, all the more fun of the game and by attaining a chain of combo that is at least 15, the people in the vicinity will be able to see this as it will be announced by the game.

The game started off with 6 classes, fairly balanced and have stayed true to that theme. That happens to be one of the few things in CabalSEA I have seen that has not changed, thankfully for them. As for me, I've played every single class and had decided to stick with Force Blader as it was seen to be an 'imbalanced' class at the earlier parts of the game. This holds true up until about Episode 2 of Cabal. Aside from how much this class needs to be reworked and I will not touch on that issue, we can see them in all Cabal Online gaming forum on this any way, the game in itself is bad from many different perspectives on this.

They say it takes two hands to clap, two people to tango. A poor community reflects on how poor the managing team is, so as to vice versa. CabalSEA has fallen from grace, plummeting into a vortex of neverending disappointments. Those who have played in CabalSEA for as long as I did would only be able to see such changes, constantly deteriorating rather than evolving. Not to put all the blame on faults with the management, the community plays a role in making the game so much more of an abysmal than it is.

Year 1 of CabalSEA, it was still going great. Hacking and botting were miniscule as everyone is still comparably average. I still remember how people use to go amok when they get PKed and it becomes such a major issue that from what seem to be a 1 on 1 vendetta into a mob riot, it's a MMO after all. Everyone was still exploring the game and how to maximize their potentials, this too has not changed till date though the significance of this for the stronger players have dwindled.

Most of my friends then gave up playing this game due to the insensitivity of players constantly brooding for a PK. Despite the numerous amount of channels back when the game was all the rage that were made available to us, they were all so full. You would think 48 different 'plains' would help even out players and give every players a chance to enter the game, you're wrong. I still remember the times when my friends and I had to like stalk channels and constantly spamming the channels to just get into it. Given the chance we are allowed to do so, we would never want to relog for the fear of unable to enter the game looms. Some friends left due to that said reason, while some left because to them, the game has lost its appeal.

In the period between Year 1 and Year 2 of CabalSEA, I have made a total of 2 quits or being inactive for the game due to complications in life and how I was unlucky in game, scoring myself a very unfit position in a competitive environment that is CabalSEA.

Year 2 of CabalSEA, everyone has gotten stronger, smarter. Strong players hurdles into a guild, joining nation wars and whooping player's arse at a grandscale. Hacking and botting has gotten far more serious as the game was still under the use of X-Trap. Though it may not have provided much of a protection, it has been a very light add-on to the game, making it playable still by the older generations of PC. That however has reached its toll when everyone (including myself) complained about the security issues X-Trap was giving out. Asiasoft heard our pleas, and that is when they injected the venomous Gameguard. Aside from this huge mistake made by Asiasoft, the game was updated with a new featured called "Runes". Players were able to learn them, giving passive attributes alongside what we can find on pets and equipments.

That alone brought me back to the game, in hopes that I will be able to enjoy the game further. I did, for even the smallest trickle of moment in the pool of sheer fun I thought I had been in.

Year 3 of CabalSEA had been one of the most interesting times that I would consider myself to have been in. 2010 was a year where CabalSEA was more than just the game itself. I got to meet players from both Malaysia and Singapore regions. It was fun to bring the game out of just the virtual environment and getting to know the people behind their pixels. Aside from Asiasoft Game fest that happened in 2009 which I had partake for the Forbidden Island dungeon run challenge, I too joined in the 2010 Asiasoft Gam Fest (ASGF in short) for the 3 on 3 pvp. I was in LasNoches back then where I grouped with 3 other locals which became a trend setter on how we managed our team for the 3 on 3 pvp.

We took home 3rd place but knew that there were hanky panky business for the runner-up which I will not get into details, you know who you are and what you did. The game did not look all that bad, seeing as I thought this victory would be the start of change for the game, I was wrong.

Over the course of gameplay, I have spent not less than 10b alz on cores for upgrading, another 10b alz for crafting and God knows how much more for the equipments I have. Crafting has not yield me any income as by the time I got to where I am (Mithril Suit currently), I was not able to catch up with the competitors let alone the demand for them has been lower than expected. This is just virtual money, right? No.

I have spent not less than RM 8,000 on this game alone, which I have now looked and reflect how stupid this is. This has to stop. About less than a quarter goes into Asiasoft 'legitly' by purchasing @-Cash for their in-game products, and the rest on what else? The in-game currency of course, alz! I can actually say any players who are pretty decently equipped till date will have at any time bought alz, hacked or both. It's a sad fact how this game is turning out. Rich gets richer and all tricked out, poor gets poorer, shrinks and will eventually withered out of the game.

With that much expense you would think I am recognised for my strengths or valor? Far from it I say, far from it.

It had been my final straw yesterday where I spent on cores to upgrade my freakin' equips. The failure rate was fucking abysmal where using enhanced cores dropped my +11 blade to +5. All for the cost of, 1 billion alz, ding ding!

Regardless of who's at fault here; ESTSoft, Asiasoft or the community, one thing is crystal clear - this game has gone off its deep end, and it is about time I hightail as far away from its impending doom as soon as possible.

This will be my last 'quit' from this game. I will never as to so close to step foot into the virtual environment that has caused me to waste my last remaining moments with my late father, my late uncle and my late grandmother, spent a fortune in which I could have used it to make a down payment for a car or pay for tuition fees in otherwise saved me from the trouble of applying for a loan, graduating with a better degree and in otherwise, sanity.

There is more that can be said about how much fail that goes on in this game, but I will spare you from this until I have the time to document my biography. Goodbye CabalSUCKS, it was nice when it lasted.

Why don't you understand?

Signed, sealed and delivered by Kevin

It's just passed frustrating. I think to myself, "Why am I suffering so much just to be condemned at the end of the day?". "Wouldn't it be much better if I could just die and leave all my cares behind me?".

Those thoughts buzzing through my head constantly. It never stops haunting me no matter how much I try to deny it.

I may only be 23 years of age but I have seen too much to just let myself go by as a 'newbie' and constantly be 'challenged' by how much force I can take.

The most depressing thing about anyone's life is that no one would acknowledge that person's struggle until they are dead or otherwise left nothing but memories of what was once their existence in life. It all boils down to understanding. Is it so hard today, for even people to start acknowledging the things around them?

I'm really really sick of everything. I'm so sick of this new transition in life. I'm so sick that I even have to work off hours. I'm so sick of constantly having to go to the office. I'm so sick that some people don't understand the amount of pressure and stress I go through everyday.

Working life is just a major detour in my life, and boy have this ride gotten bumpy. I was hired as a copywriter, yet I still do odds and ends which yes, my skill in these 'odds and ends' are slower than an average person. I major in typing, pure typing! I don't have expertise in extricating from a source, then paste it in HTML, java, aspx or whatever web language out there in the fastest of means. I'm slow, deal with it! I'm trying my best to speed it up, nothing works! Yet I'm being flurried off and constantly being squashed on a lot of duties. FUCK IT.

I take pride in what I do but this time, I've drawn my last straw. I'm not really doing what I like in overall. I'm a writer, not a freakin' clerk or a desk boy cum amateur designer cum web maintenance guy cum copywriter. NO!

Just to meet deadlines, I even have to work from home. The lack of sleep and rest on weekdays are calling for more fatigue and anxiety attacks on me. I really can't fucking take all these shit all at once.

I swear, if I had to do my work from the comforts of home constantly, I am much more productive in that sense. Or maybe, the place I'm working at I just can't do much besides staring at my PC and the most, surf the web/Facebook/Twitter whatever. I'm deprived of having any life at all.

Even if I could come back from work early, I have left less than 5 hours to - eat, socialise, free gaming period. That isn't enough and I can't always compromise my sleeping hours for it. My only off time is weekends and the extra hours I have are spent on just sleep. I'm not the workaholic kind and I don't want to constantly have work in front of my face 24/7.

What adds to all this bullshit is that some people don't understand the stress I have. These few people always think I may have it all and that I don't show any hint that I'm in a fucking load full of stress and depression is because I don't want to involve you in this and yet you continue to poke me more often by ADDING more stress on me. Yeah, I'm seriously fucking pissed at all of you who did this to me.

Firstly, I wish someone somewhere somehow would get it through my mom's thick skull that I'm not exactly living in luxury and that I can handle things on my own, eventually. Stress from work is already enough to make me want to shout to the heavens, I don't need you to come nag at me for fuck sake. Though I may handle things at my own pace and you might not like it, screw off! It's my fucking life, don't tell me what to do. I'm not fucking 8 years old, I can handle myself.

Secondly, I wish that some people would stop boasting their ego and keep their selves so reserved that you shun the world from you. Dude, being too cautious only makes you lose out more than you bargain for you shallow and pathetic faggot. Just because you forge a name for you and the guild you are in doesn't make YOU any better than those fucked up guilds out there. Your mentality sucks, grow 2 fucking balls man.

I had to squeeze in as much time as I can to just finish this entry. Oh wait, I just remembered something - I've still got work to do (and I'm back at home to boot!). If anyone wants to take my life, feel free to do so, you'll be ending my misery.

And what was it all worth?

Signed, sealed and delivered by Kevin

Dreaming big, aiming high would take your ambitions to greater heights. Though as you go higher and your dreams are fabulous, the price you pay when you fall would also be equivalently as big.

Sometimes I wondered why I dream and want for more. It's in our nature to want more and achieve greater heights in life. There's just no point in aiming so high only to see yourself fall.

In any case, perhaps it's time for me to let go of it all. All the endless struggles and battles I face were all meant for nothing now.

This blog post is especially dedicated to my life in CabalSEA. For all the happiness I've faced, now comes all the hardship that mounts throughout the years. My life in CabalSEA started off with my real life friends and ending without them.

To cut things short, there are so many reasons as to why this has become the inevitable end.

Playing games like this, I always emphasize on both achieving greatness and achieving friends. A little far-fetched but hey, some people were able to achieve this. I thought I could have a shot at this, guess not.

I've gone through so many guilds and sadly, none of which brought me closer to achieving greatness, nor friendship. I'm not saying I didn't make friends along the way, to me, having 'friends' is more personal than what most people would consider it to be. I take each and every one of these relationships to the heart. One false move, and it'll be my emotions that will be tangled upon.

LasNoches, though with so many powerful and famous players in it, I never found happiness. I was blinded by my constant denial of giving things the benefit of the doubt, but it was nothing more than an empty mirage to convince myself that things could get better.

What's the point of being in a guild when everyone in it is just going to do things on their own? Where's the love?

Though friendship was formed long along by some, newcomers do deserve the chance to be part of if not at all in the circles of friendship. I find that hardly happening in LasNoches, sadly.

Guild motto: We Love, United and Strong LasNoches! Pfft. Well, strong is right but I highly doubt it's anywhere near love and united. It's just plain deceiving. It's a guild, but there's so many cliques that it makes communication scarce, or even rare. The strong stays amongst their own kin. The weak just comes abound when there are scraps of 'leftovers' for us to indulge on. We're not beggars, we're not some street junky and hell, we're not going to tolerate your social deficit sense of discrimination.

All that work for nothing. All the things I've done, were all meant for nothing. This is the very last time I would be saying this, I'm leaving LasNoches for good. I will no longer associate myself with the likes of them. From therein and from when the server comes back on, I'm no longer a member of CabalSEA's LasNoches.

I decided to compile all my findings regarding runes for Cabal Online as a point of reference for myself and as for anyone else who would like to take up this post as a guide.

My guide is incomplete but I will update it from time to time when I get relevant information and the time to do so.

Oh, of course, credits will be given and best of all, it is given right here, right now:

What are Runes?

Runes are the latest edition to the game, Cabal Online in Episode 3: Soul & Sienna, amongst other new features. The Runes (also known as Soul Ability) are similar to the pet option, whereby you can use it to learn specific options such as HP, Attack, Magic Attack and etc. that adds bonus to you permanently as long as you have learnt the Runes and is not deleted from the Soul Ability window.

To access this window, simply press U from your keyboard or alternatively click the icon circled in red as shown in the screenshot below:

Once done, you will see this window:

As you can see, the attribute skills which I had learned are Stun Resist, Down Resist, Knock-Back Resist, STR, DEX, INT and Pet EXP respectively.

Return to the FAQ Index

What are Blended Runes?

Blended Runes are an extension of how normal runes work. Unlike normal Runes which are completely passive, Blended Rune requires you to firstly 'activate' the skill or effect that you want in order for it to work passively. For example, having the Shock I, Defenseless I and Sword Pressure I rune learned, you can have all 3 blended runes activated at any one time as long as it is 'activated'.

Return to the FAQ Index

When can I use/learn Runes?

You can start learning these Runes from level 120 onwards, as this is where the first rune's level requirement is met and also this is when you start to gain Soul Ability known as Ability Experience Points (AXP). There is a bar right above the EXP bar which is yellow, instead of the EXP which is blue, as seen from the screenshot below:

It is also visible inside the Soul Ability Window (U) as shown in the screenshot below:

Return to the FAQ Index

How do I level up my Runes?

Runes require AP to learn and level it. In order to gain 1 AP, it is required to attain 10,000,000 AXP. The character gains AXP every time the character gains EXP. A character at any given time can store a maximum of 500 AP. Once reaching this limit, the character will not be able to gain anymore AXP nor AP until it is spent on Runes.

Return to the FAQ Index

Where can I find/hunt for Runes?

You can generally find runes at higher level maps and dungeons.

For Maps:
  • Lakeside
  • Mutant Forest
  • Pontus Ferrum

For Dungeons:
  • Frozen Tower of the Undead B1F
  • Volcanic Citadel

Return to the FAQ Index

What do I need to learn these Runes?

The first thing would be the Rune itself, of course along with other catalysts, mainly cores. The type of cores that are needed for the skill increases depending on the growth and level of the Rune. For a more detailed information on requirements for Rune growth, refer to the Rune Growth Chart.

It took me over RM3000+ to realise that it was my time to quit.

Never have I felt so stupid in my life. RM3000+ just to realise how stupid it is to invest in this game.

Fuck it.

From now on I will not spend a single cent on online games, anymore!

Worst E-Gaming Company Ever - Asiasoft

The leading online entertainment service provider in southeast asia

As if.

Yes, it's true.

The forum is filled with very irresponsible moderators. Why?

When they perform an action they hardly notify people of their actions, which could conceal their true intentions behind their nature of their doing or they could be doing something shady.

Firstly, I started this thread: Need Recommendations

Asking forumers regarding other online games besides CabalSEA that is NOT under Asiasoft management. Yes, I know it was my mistake to ask this, but I saw the fate of the thread coming, getting locked. I really don't mind the topic being locked, what really ticked me off is the topic is locked and moved WITHOUT any prior message from the authority regarding their actions. HIGHLY irresponsible much?

Then, I posted this thread: CMs or Forum Mods are very irresponsible

As you can see from this post here, it is clear without a doubt no other moderators came to respond to me but Scowl and he (or she) has yet to respond to my argument.

Then I decided to create a topic on information regarding the sale on my account, and yes deleted and given 2 ban points too. I really don't mind the ban points much as I really wanted to sell my account. Then I decided to put the message in my siggie, a brief and quite straight forward message on the selling of my CabalSEA account.

Guess what?

My account was given 4 ban points totalling the amount of 6 ban points, which the forum only needs 5 to be permanently suspended. Not only did I not know for sure and confirmed that I was being banned for the signature I used, but no notification from the administration informing me of the permanent suspension through e-mail, nothing. They take so much idiotic actions such as these and not notifying people of it, is seriously irresponsible.

Their forum management is shitty, their network management for their gaming servers are beyond abysmal despair and furthermore, their in-game management personifies the meaning of futility.

Besides the point of their failure forum management, we'll talk about Asiasoft in a whole. Asiasoft has been nothing but a company full of hoax. Why? Picture this. I won an event hosted by them, titled Asiasoft Gamefest 2009 CabalSEA 'The Time Attack Dungeon Run - Lost World' (MY) which was held in 1 Utama on the 6th of June 2009.

As you can see, my character nick 'Haxter' is one of the 2nd place winner for the cabal cash prize of 200k to be split even between the 6 of us, but right until now, I have yet been credited. I checked my Asiasoft Passport, and this is what I got:

They said they would credit the prize to us within 7 working days of the announcement of the winner list and guess when was the announcement made? 10th of June 2009. What is the date now? 4th of July 2009 and they had decided to 'speed up' the process by asking us over the QBox for the prizes that we want in exchange of the Cabal Cash being credited to our account and this is what I am still getting:

Nice job Asiasoft, nice.

This is but just 1 event that they did not live up to their promise. In another event, the server had undergone a maintenance and in one of the announcement it stated Channels Optimization'. We were wondering what exactly does that mean, maybe a lagless connection or a smoother one would take place after the maintenance, but what was expected instead was something far worse.

After the 30th of June 2009 Server Maintenance, channels for CabalSEA servers (Mercury, Venus and Mars) has been reduced from 24 to 12. If they think reducing the number of channels would optimize performance for the server, they thought wrong.

There were even a lot of protest and hubbub regarding this as the effect from this action was very visible in the forum and the topic is found here. Not only the shrinking of the channels caused the player population to squeeze into the already small number of channels, but due to the increases of population per channel, the channel became even laggier than before. Players are cramped up and a lot of issues happened. Territorial disputes even happen because of this.

So much drama, so much problems, so much shit happening in CabalSEA alone. Hackers are running amock and what are the Game Master/Moderators doing? Banned none of them.

My freedom to sell or trade my account is also refrained from me. I seriously doubt Asiasoft being the top and leading gaming company for SouthEast Asia. It is the worse I've seen by far, they pretty much resemble E-Games. Who's E-Games? See, a company as retarded as that has been forgotten by people except from the Phillipines because E-Games is still thriving there.

All I know is, Asiasoft is a waste of time and money. Spend nothing on them or regret and dread your hard earned money and precious time on a FAILURE company.

To top it all off folks, here is the result from a random search which I typed 'Asiasoft Sucks' on Google (take note of the Results X of X part);

Fuck CabalSEA, Fuck

Signed, sealed and delivered by Kevin

Yay, time to kick this stupid addiction aside after what seem to be the breaking point of the game.

I have thought of quitting before, and it was not easy to do. Just about the same feeling I had back when I said I wanted to quit Blueserver, and look where I am now?

It is hard, no doubt but I will try. I probably will join Yu Sing and my college buddies in WoW, although I'm not profficient in that game, I'd rather have that company than retards in CabalSEA.

Why quit CabalSEA, when it is such an awesome game? Plain and simple. Hackers. Botters. Alz Buyers and Sellers. CMs with retarded events only for Singapore (mainly). Malaysians are victims in Cash Shop items as it is doubled the price (don't get me started on conversions).

Amongst them all, I hate how such a good game can be so ill managed by retarded management.

So here's to the money I lost in the game, and to the times when I thought this game was actually worthwhile playing.

P.S. Fuck you alz buying, game hacking, bot using players.

CabalSEA Giving away A-Cash!

Original link to the event news: CABALSEA "Free CABAL Cash up for grabs!"

So what's so great about this event? You can either read the link I had given above or a summary below:

For New Registrants

  • 55K A-Cash
  • 10 Days Platinum Service

For Users Refered by New Registrants
  • 55K A-Cash
  • 3 Days Platinum Service per Newly Refered User (Maximum of 10 refers for up to 30 days)

Now, for the catch. In order for either users to win anything, newly registered users should be refered and complete their nation quest and reach level 95 between 10th of April and 10th of May 2009.

Here are the details if you wish to deem me as your referer:

IGN: Haxter
World: Mercury

Asiasoft, another leader in cyber gaming industries? I think not

Signed, sealed and delivered by Kevin

This rant specifically refers to CabalSEA.

Through careful analysis, I found a grave mistake done by the network technicians for CabalSEA. After every network maintenance, what we thought to be of an improvement turns out to be of the total opposite.

The first time after my return to CabalSEA, there was a Network Maintenance, scheduled to be on the 5th of January, 2009 (original article found here). When I logged in at 1 a.m. or so on the following day, which is the 6th, the game was spiking so badly that I had a 16 hour hiatus on the game. Following 3 days after that, the gameplay went back to normal, thankfully.

Now, on the brink of an upcoming network maintenance ... here ... the gameplay became sluggish as usual ...

Sigh, I have never been so distaintful towards a game like I do for this shitty service Asiasoft is giving.

Manual Cabal SEA patching

Signed, sealed and delivered by Kevin

Meh, my friend brought me back to this game (which I kind of liked it ... until now). So here is how to patch these updates manually fresh from the DVD installation of CABALSEA obtained via PCGamers Magazine for Malaysia, March 2008 issue:

Step 1
First, get the needed patch files via their FTP server (click on the update links below)

update_6.dat
update_12.dat
update_14.dat
update_21.dat
update_23.dat
update_26.dat
update_33.dat
update_34.dat
update_38.dat
update_39.dat
update_48.dat

Step 2
Make the folder to 'Read Only'. Then, delete all the files with 'update' in it found in your "X:\Program Files\Cabal (SG MY)\Launcher" (X being your Disk Drive letter) folder.

Step 3
Delete your CabalMain.exe and Launcher.exe, and patch it up.

I think this method is not working, at least the links to the updates files are valid. I will update as soon as I get a hold of the complete details.

Changelog
========

12-12-08-Changed the description for Step 2
-Changed the URL site as the directory of the patch server was changed.
-Added Update_48.dat

Lags and Lost Packets, Slow Factor?

Signed, sealed and delivered by Hakenden

Okay, tonight I worked extremely late and I thought it all could have paid off when I could return to my home and get 1 base level up and about at least of a minimum of 10 skill points for sword, but sigh, that won't happen as planned.

It's 2 a.m., it took 1 minute before a barrage of attacks I made to the Excavator Alfa starts flying out. What The Fuck?

Being as shitty as they should be, Asiasoft came up with more crappy contents (Nation War, a.k.a. Tierra Gloriosa) which soon after I downloaded yesterday, caused me to (in chronological order) reinstall cabal and patch up to the latest patch due to the error of unable to create CabalMain.exe or whatever, PC going through a disk scan (first ever since I installed Vista) and last but not least, a re-update of the CabalMain launcher thingy today. Way to go ShitSoft.

As far as I know, iZZi has been a bitch and knack for having shitty connectivity during these hours. But again, I continued investigating. CabalSEA's main site took me 46 seconds to load (usual time is about 12), so the motive shift over to ShitSoft again.

Who's the culprit in giving me this bloody service? iZZi? ShitSoft?

I sense that is both of them, so fuck them both.
